iovation to Speak at MRC's 7th Annual eCommerce Payments and Risk Conference

Criminal Diversification: A Look at the Emerging Strategies of Cybercrime

PORTLAND, Ore. – March 5, 2009 – iovation has years of proven experience helping online merchants stop the most sophisticated forms of fraud to protect the reputation of their business and build customer trust and confidence. On Wednesday, March 11th, iovation’s Cory Swick will present to online merchants at the Merchant Risk Council (MRC) 7th Annual eCommerce Payments and Risk Conference on “Criminal Diversification: A Look at the Emerging Strategies of Cybercrime.”

Not long ago, cybercriminals crafted schemes to exploit online merchants by targeting websites within a particular sector that all had similar vulnerabilities. Today those criminals are diversifying their operations and committing fraud across a spectrum of industries to increase their return on investment. iovation will demonstrate how fraudsters are extending their scams and what online businesses can do to stop them. Emerging strategies of cybercrime will be discussed during the presentation, from individuals targeting specific markets and organized rings of collusion to maturing fraud economies.

Preceding the eCommerce Payments and Risk Conference are the MRC Platinum events consisting of the Platinum Party on March 9th at the Blush Boutique Wynn, followed by the Platinum Meeting on March 10th. All Platinum events are co-sponsored by iovation.

Cory Swick is a Senior Enterprise Sales Executive at iovation. He has over 20 years of technology experience focusing on fraud management tools, Internet and client-server applications, telecommunications, energy management, and enterprise resource planning. Swick has served as a committee member for the MRC on multiple occasions and frequently speaks at industry related tradeshows on various topics, including fraud management and emerging technologies that protect online environments against fraud and abuse.
